The Jackets are in and they look great! Thanks to the supplier who had them complete just before Xmas!

Party Time!

The LakeHill u13g PenBull Reds entered into their two week holiday break in 4th place and took the opportunity to practice their 'throw-ins'...

A fun time was had by all as they tested their skills in two games of 5 pin at the T&C lanes on December 17th.

The fans started to party early as the bowling scores started to climb!

LakeHill PenBull Reds 1 - Gorge Canadians 1

On a sunny December day in Esquimalt the LakeHill PenBull Reds played their second round match vs the Gorge Canadians. Gorge was coming off some league losses which did not reflect just how good a team they are while LakeHill had enjoyed narrow victories against LISA opponents since the last time these two teams had played.

The game started with a change in tactics, Coach Bruce started with BrianneD in goal and Maressa in the Striker position. The game had a very different feel from the last time these two teams played. Gorgecommenced play with a very strong lineup, the game started with LakeHill punting the ball into the Gorge end and keeping much of the early play in search of an opening goal.

LakeHill did not have to wait long to get on the score sheet following an Emily corner that fed the ball to Céline who took a shot that rebounded and landed onto Amy's foot for an early 1-0 goal!

The early lead held for 7 minutes after which time the strong play of Gorge swung the play to their favour. LakeHill had to rely on their defense and frequently gave up the midfield to their opponents who where rewarded with an equalizing goal mid way in the first half.

The 2nd half saw the return of Maressa into the LakeHill goal and she was tested frequently and was called on to make a number of good saves that kept LakeHill in the game however LakeHill had few chances to get the ball into the Gorge end and had to rely on the play of their defense to relieve pressure in the LakeHill end. Kluane, Christina, Stephanie, Jenna all aided in the cause!

Despite the lacklustre play of the midfield a few players did stand out with the players of the game having to be Jessica and Maressa!

As Coach Bruce said at the end of the game the girls had taken 4 out of a possible 6 points from their two games with Gorge so that was a positive. The girls go into the winter break in the middle of the standings and will see many of the teams that currently sit ahead of them when action restarts on January 15th.
